John Roan School's Basketball Academy recently hosted ex-NBA player Ryan Richards and coaches from Alma University (USA), who visited to observe two of their recruits, Carlos W. and Joshua O. The visitors were very pleased with what they saw, both on and off the court, reflecting the high standards of the programme under Coach Courtney's leadership.

This year, 13 students in Years 9 and 10 took part in the programme, which aimed to challenge pupils with university-level learning and develop their academic skills.

In a remarkable display of diplomacy and research prowess, two of our Year 9 students recently represented The John Roan School at the prestigious Model United Nations (MUN) High School Conference held at the London School of Economics (LSE). As you are aware, the membership of the National Education Union (NEU) has voted to take industrial action in schools across the country. The continuation of this strike action is for two days in July: Wednesday 5th July and Friday 7th July.
