Sixth Form Admissions

Your application will be considered by a member of the Sixth Form team.

Academic references supporting your application for A level study and stating your predicted grades may be requested from your current school.

Offers will be made on the basis of your predicted GCSE grades and reference.

Predicted grades must meet the general requirements for entry into the sixth form and also any special requirements for the courses that you have chosen.

 

Entry Requirements

All students following our Level 3 programme need to have at least 5 Grade 9-4 at GCSE including Mathematics and English. In addition, most courses have specific GCSE entry requirements which are stated in the course description for each subject.

All applicants must have at least 5 GCSE's, Grade 4 or above, including English and Mathematics.

Art: Fine Art All must have at least 5 GCSE's Grade 4 or above including English and Mathematics.
Biology Grade '6-6' in GCSE Combined Science or Grade 6 in Biology and Grade 5 GCSE Mathematics.
Buisness Grade 6 or higher in GCSE English Language and Grade 4 or higher in GCSE Mathematics.
Chemistry Grade 6-6 or higher in Combined Science or GCSE Chemistry and Grade 6 or higher in GCSE Mathematics.
Economics Grade 6 or higher in GCSE English and Mathematics.
English Literature Grade 6 or higher in GCSE English Language and English Literature.
Fashion Grade 4 or higher in GCSE Art/Design and Technology
OR grade Merit or higher in BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design.
Students who have not previously studied this subject, and want to apply for fashion, will have a further interview and may need to produce a portfolio.
French Grade 6 or higher at GCSE French.
History Grade 6 or higher in GCSE History and/or grade 5 or higher in GCSE English.
Mathematics An aptitude/entrance test; students that attain a minimum Grade 6 (including a raw UMS mark of 65% or higher) in GCSE Mathematics will be eligible to sit the aptitude/entrance test.
Music Grade 6 or higher in GCSE Music or grade Five (Merit or Distinction) in any instrument or Theory from ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall Music.
Photography Grade 4 or higher in GCSE Art
OR further interview and portfolio.
Physics Grade 6-6 GCSE in Combined Science or Grade 6 GCSE Physics and Grade 6 GCSE Mathematics
Politics Grade 6 or higher in GCSE History and/or grade 5 or higher in GCSE English.
Psychology Grade 6 or higher in GCSE English
Sociology GCSE grade 4 or above including English and Mathematics.
Spanish Grade 6 or higher at GCSE Spanish
