Outcomes for disadvantaged students

Outcomes at Key Stage 4 for all students, including disadvantaged students have improved rapidly over the last two year, especially in English and Maths. The table below shows outcomes for the Basics Measure (achieving GCSE grades in English and Maths at the key thresholds of grade 7, grade 5 and grade 4).

The table below shows outcomes for the Attainment 8 measure, which includes outcomes for three EBACC subjects (History, Geography, Science, Computer Science or MFL) and three other subjects. The maximum outcome is 90, and an outcome of 50 would mean an average of grade 5 across subjects.

Pupil Premium

The Government introduced the Pupil Premium in April 2011. It is intended to address the underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the students who are in most need of it. For the academic year 2020-21, secondary schools will receive the following funding:

  • £955 for pupils in year 7 to year 11 for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
  • £2,345 for looked after children (and for those who have ceased to be looked after due to adoption, guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order)
  • £310 for service children

The school is part of United Learning. United Learning comprises: UCST (Registered in England No: 2780748. Charity No. 1016538) and ULT (Registered in England No. 4439859. An Exempt Charity). Companies limited by guarantee. VAT number 834 8515 12.
