Last week, The John Roan School community came together for an extraordinary celebration of diversity and culture, marking an unforgettable Culture Day and International Evening. The event, a vibrant tapestry of global traditions, was a testament to the incredible efforts of our students, teachers, and the wider school community.
A special shoutout to Ms. Bivolaku, Mr. Garvey, and all the dedicated teachers and students who poured their hearts into organizing this spectacular event. The hall at Maze Hill was abuzz, filled to the brim with enthusiastic attendees.
The array of dishes provided by parents and carers took us on a culinary journey around the world, from the rich flavours of Nigeria and Congo to the hearty cuisine of Ireland, the exotic tastes of Australia, and the comforting dishes of Ukraine, among others.
Our teachers and students captivated us with enlightening presentations on their countries and heritage, alongside stunning dance routines performed in traditional dress. The hall was alive with energy, with students singing and dancing in their seats, fully engaged in the celebration of our global family.
This event was more than just a celebration; it was a powerful reminder of the beauty in our diversity and the strength of our community spirit at The John Roan School. It showcased the unity and vibrancy of our school community, reminding us all of the importance of embracing and celebrating our differences.
