Destinations for our Sixth Form include the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford respectively plus a host of Russsell Group and top universities.

 

The John Roan School 2025 A Level results saw a significant improvements on all key headline measures, with half of all A Level entries achieving A*-B grades.

Overall, these results reflect an increase on all key measures for The John Roan School since 2024 and a 100% pass rate. Most notably, the A* to B rate improved significantly by eight percentage points – unlocking opportunities for top higher education destinations.

This trend was matched by achievements in vocational equivalent courses, with almost 100% pass rate in all BTEC subjects, 83% D*-D in Diploma Health and Social Care and over a quarter of all BTEC entries achieved at least Distinction.

2025 student destinations include:

  • Alicia, who is now headed to the University of Cambridge to read Geography after achieving an A* in Geography and As in Maths and History;
  • Tom, who achieved three A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and A in Chemistry and will be taking up a place at Warwick to read Mathematics;
  • Jian, who has secured a place at UCL to study Mathematics, having achieved A*s in Maths and Further Maths and As in Physics and Chemistry;
  • Aaron, who achieved an A* in Maths, an A in Further Maths and a B in Physics and has secured a place at study a degree apprenticeship in Civil Engineering;
  • Rex, who achieved A*s in Maths and Politics and an A in History and is excited to take up a place at the University of Oxford to study Japanese;
  • Reem, who achieved an A* in Biology, A in Chemistry and Distinction* in BTEC Health and Social Care and is looking forward to beginning studies in Diagnositic Radiography at the University of Leeds;
  • Lois, who will be heading to Bristol to study Psychology after achieving an A* in Psychology and As in Maths and Biology;
  • Tetiana, who will now go on to study Psychology at Warwick after achieving an A* in Biology and As in Maths and Psychology;
  • Ellen, who achieved an A* in Art and As in History and Geography and will be taking up a place to study Art History and Fine Art at Leeds University;
  • Jonas, who achieved As in Maths and Physics and a B in Chemistry, thus securing a place at Warwick to study Mechanical Engineering;
  • Nada, who achieved As in Maths, Biology and Chemistry and will be taking up a place at Imperial College London to study Biochemistry;
  • Kieran, who achieved ABB and will be going to study at The Royal Veterinary University in London

Words of Gratitude and Future Aspirations 

During the celebration, students expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the guidance they received throughout the journey. Isabella extended “a big thank you” to the Head of Sixth Form, Miss Porter, capturing her excitement about her forthcoming Cambridge journey. Aeden, upon securing his flawless A* grades, commented, "The unwavering support and dedication from our teachers played a crucial role in these achievements."
