Dear Parent/Carer,

As a result of rising infection rates in the area, we have a number of teaching staff who are now away from school with positive covid tests. The availability of cover teachers is unfortunately limited because many schools are experiencing the same pressures. As a result, we have had to make the decision to ask Year 9 students to work at home for the remainder of this term (Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th December).

Work will be set for each lesson and we are expecting the students to complete this at home. Their work will be set via the Show My Homework platform and they should follow the instructions from their teachers regarding how to submit any work that needs to be handed in.
We will not take a register for each lesson, however we do expect students to complete the work that is set. We also expect all students to log in live to their Form Time in order to get their attendance mark and to pick up messages from their form tutor.

On Wednesday 15th December, this will be at 12.50pm and a Teams invitation will be sent to the students.

On Thursday 16th December, Form Time will be at 10.30am and will include the end of term Celebration Assembly. Again, a Teams invitation will be sent to students.
I apologise for the inconvenience that this decision will create for you, but hope that you will understand that it was not a decision that was taken lightly and is driven by the need to keep everyone safe.

Kind regards,

Cath Smith
