Yesterday, students and staff celebrated as Sixth Formers secure places at top Russell Group universities, after receiving their A Level or equivalent results.
The Covid-19 pandemic created unique obstacles for this year group, who had their GCSE exams cancelled at short notice, then experienced a hugely disrupted education. Despite this, The John Roan Sixth Form has improved significantly on its results from 2019, the last time public exams took place. 47% of A Level entries achieved A*-B grades and 71% of entries achieved A*-C grades. For Level 3 equivalent qualifications, 41% of entries achieved the highest marks of Distinction or Distinction*.
With these results under their belts, students are set to take up places at some of the UK’s top universities, including the most prestigious Russell Group institutions. There, they will be studying a range of exciting disciplines from Computer Science and Mathematics to Psychology and Interior and Spatial Design.
