GCSE success for Year 11 students

This year, 67% of the school’s Year 11s achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths, with 54% achieving grade 5 or above in the two subjects.

As GCSE qualifications are awarded around the country, students at The John Roan School  are today celebrating their achievements.

“On behalf of all our staff, I would like to congratulate our Year 11s as they celebrate their GCSE results today. These outcomes reflect their hard work and perseverance over many years, including during the challenges of the pandemic, and we are pleased that this has paid off with some excellent individual achievements.

“With these qualifications, alongside the skills and experiences they have gained with us, these students can take their next steps with pride and confidence in their abilities as learners. They are a fantastic example of the high expectations we set across our school and we look forward to following their successes as they progress to Sixth Form, university and beyond.”
