Strike Action - 2 Days in July

Re: Strike Action

As you are aware, the membership of the National Education Union (NEU) has voted to take industrial action in schools across the country. The continuation of this strike action is for two days in July: Wednesday 5th July and Friday 7th July. I am writing to give you as much notice as possible about the likely impact this will have on our school.

This is a very busy time of year and we are aiming to provide as much continuity of learning as possible, whilst needing to recognise that without a full staff team some things need to be cancelled or postponed.

Our view, at present, is that we will be able to keep the school open on these days for some students with the following arrangements in place:

Strike Action - Thursday 2nd March

As you will be aware, the membership of the National Education Union (NEU) have voted to take industrial action in schools across the country. This will take the form of strike action and the second in a series of days is due to take place on Thursday 2nd March. I am writing to give you as much notice as possible about the likely impact this will have on our school. The industrial action is a result of a national dispute between the NEU and the government and is not specific to our school nor to United Learning. The overwhelming majority of schools locally and nationally will be impacted but each school will have different arrangements for students due to the number of members of its staff who are likely to strike.

We have been working closely with colleagues here to plan for the strikes so that we can minimise any disruption to our students’ education. Our current understanding is that some colleagues will be taking industrial action and we are thus planning for this accordingly.
