At the end of each term, every student receives a more complex report that evaluates how well their behaviour for learning reflects our PRIDE values (Pride, Respect, Involvement, Determination and Excellence).
Students are awarded a number grade from 9 to 1, where 9 is the highest grade, for each of the following:
- Punctuality to school and class
- Attitude to Learning (ATL)
All students complete centralised summative assessments twice a year in order to measure attainment and progress in each subject with the results reported home.
Year 7 to 10 complete mid-year assessments after the Christmas break which are graded as a percentage. Year 7 to 9 complete similar End of Year assessments in the Summer term, graded as a percentage.
In the Summer of Year 10, students complete their first set of mock exams in preparation for the GCSE and BTEC exams the following summer. Students are given exam grades that reflect their current attainment which are reported home. Students complete two more sets of mock exams in Year 11 at the end of the Autumn and Spring terms.
GCSE Grades from 9-1 are still relatively new. Click here to find out more about what has changed
Students in the 6th Form complete two mock exams in Year 12 and two in Year 13, each one graded with an exam grade and reported home.
